京焼清水焼は京都を代表する伝統工芸品のひとつ。清水寺への参道である五条坂界隈に清水六兵衛・高橋道八を初めとする多くの窯元があったのが由来とされています。十草とは縦縞の紋様で、古くから日本で親しまれてきた紋様です。シンプルなだけに細かいところまで考え抜かれた作者の思いが伝わる逸品です。作者の関さんは、あくまで自分は一職人であり、芸術品としての焼物を作るのでは無く、職人としての技を磨き、使い易い食器、便利な食器、見て楽しい食器を、いつでも同じデザインの物は寸分変わらぬ形状で
